The legal tussle, Apple has no choice but keep Samsung in it

Notwithstanding the legal conflict with Samsung, Apple has no option, but to continue getting its significant parts from Samsung for its iPhone. The significant parts include the iPhone 5's main processor- the A5, besides system memory and flash memory--components that jointly comprises the electronic core.

Industry sources say that Apple has to stick with Samsung for the moment, rumors like Apple joining with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to source its requirement for the main process was brushed aside.

But the move is not likely to take shape, since TSMC has not honed the hi-tech manufacturing process that is required to develop the processor of the caliber of A5 for the iPhone and, technically it is not advisable for Apple to seek it from another manufacturer. So that leaves Apple with  no choice, but to stick with Samsung at this stage as the part A5 is crucial for them. This was later confirmed in Korean Daily 'Korea Times' that Samsung will continue to supply them the part. Interestingly Korea Times had previously reported about Samsung Electronics assaying a "complete ban" on sales of the Apple's iPhone 5 in Korea, against Apple patent lawsuits. It is anticipated that in future Apple might turn to TSMC, or even other chip makers, for advanced chips like A6.

As Korea Times carries on with exciting claim. The iPhone 5 will let in silicon for Near-Field-Communication (NFC), a technology that permits wireless payments, facilitating an iPhone to suffice as an electronic wallet, amidst uses. But it seems we have to wait till the latest version of iPhone hits the market. It is anticipated that iPhone 5 has better graphics silicon inside the A5, such as 8-megapixel camera over 5 used previously, it also has the Imagination PowerVR SGX543 graphics that is used in the iPad 2.
