Mee Not Go - Why I dont like Meego

I have a small Toshiba which came with Windows 7 Basic installed. Those of you running a netbook with Windows will know that this is supremely painful and pointless exercise. I have always wanted to install a proper linux system for it like I had on my Acer before. Looking around with some trepidation i arrived on JoliCloud which had just gone to version 1.0

The reason for installing Linux on a netbook is that netbooks are underpowered and Windows is still a hog. Linux boots super fast and needs very little power to run itself. A certain of mucking about and I had a netbook with its old version of Windows and also a great version of Jolicloud. Well, methought, why not install more operating systems on the device and I thought lets install Android and maybe another exciting Linux variant. I considered Meego which gets lots lot of coverage and then discovered that to run Meego i had to overwrite my other operating systems. Say whaaat! You mean they cannot devise a way to set it up on the device without deleting everything else. Hopeless. So now my next step is to see whether I can install a version of Android. preferably Froyo on my Toshiba and go from there, which would be dead cool

Why Linux anyway? First it gets me out from underneath Steve Dumbass Bulmer's empire and also they run like lightning which is, of course the main thing!
