Google Goes Real Time
Hit the Google homepage today and you get a grey logo. Start typing and the famous multicolours start to appear. What does it mean?

Well it could herald the start of Googles move towards real time search in the next week or two. Pundits are anticipating that search will change as you type in new characters and so the page will be dynamic rather than having to be refreshed.
Why might this matter as Bing does something similar already. Google remains the homepage of choice for Internet users and as the experience a more dynamic screen, there is a strong likelihood that it will help to change the underlying paradigm of the web from the webpage to the animated screen. New ways of navigating are difficult to deploy until people are used to them. The use of Ajax is widespread is but the underlying paradigm remains the "page". This could be the start of the responsive web where screen content changes as you type, walk.
